Storm Unravels

My latest painting. Done in oils. Inspired by a moment during my trip to Florida. The sky was breaking up, you could still see showers in the distance, but the clear blue sky was showing behind the clouds that appeared to be woven together like a rough cloth, were unraveling in front of our eyes.

I tried to capture that wonderful intense moment.

That looks like some of the funky areas around Winyah and Santee Bay in SC, or at the Bird Island State Reserve right on the line. They’re all not far from the Myrtle Beach attractions for kids, and I’m probably gonna be there this spring. Get up in the morning, do a little painting and then spend the rest of the day with the family – this picture has inspired me on the dual purpose vacation!
